I don't know if you guys have noticed yet, but it's July again. That's right, sports fans, it's every Texan's favorite time of year for to run a little foot race -- if you're completely insane, that is. Come on, folks, it's f'n hot out there. If you must, however, head on up to Flag Pole Hill this Independence Day for 8 kilometers of early morning sweat and possible heat stroke. Registration is $25 ($30 on race day) and the run kicks off at 7:30 a.m. We'd come cheer you on but we'll be too busy dreaming of hot dogs and explosives, dozing peacefully to the quiet, reassuring buzz of central air. Sorry. Call 214-821-0909 or visit thrustonracing.com.
