Shapeshifter

Sculptor Margo Sawyer's work takes inspiration from the work of Piet Mondrian and the De Stijl movement (Not just a Jack White-led garage rock trend, turns out) and can be seen all over the State of Texas, from her outdoor sculptures at Houston's new Discovery Green park to the installation she created for Whole Foods World Headquarters in downtown Austin. Locally she also created an installation for the Residences Tower of One Arts Plaza, AKA Weird White Neon Square Headquarters. Her newest exhibition, Synchronicity of Color -- which features colorful aluminum box panels and an "installation responding to the gallery's architecture" -- is currently on display at Holly Johnson Gallery, 1411 Dragon St. Check it out from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays (through August 16).
