Border Crossing

By Mark Hughes

Border Crossing

Any artist worth their easel pushes boundaries, but this region's artists seem interested in borders. The latest example is Unified Field: The Border, by contemporary artist Beatriz Ezban. This exhibition addresses the physical line between nations and differences in culture. Ezban, employing an aesthetic based in existential philosophy, uses space, texture, figurative elements and chromatic contrasts in fields of abstract planes. Check it out when the exhibit runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays through November 29 at the Latino Cultural Center, 2600 Live Oak St..
